Treating Anxiety

While Hypnotherapy has an excellent record of helping people overcome some severe life-limiting issues, it is also extremely effective in helping people become calmer and more relaxed. This is a really significant aspect of hypnosis because these calmer and relaxed states reverse the effects of the stress response. The stress response is the activation of the sympathetic nervous system (SNS). The relaxation response is the activation of the parasympathetic nervous system (PNS) Stress occurs when our sensory systems detect some form of danger or threat, real-time and imminent. Anxiety, on the other hand, is the activation of the sympathetic nervous system because of the anticipation of danger or threat. Both the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems are survival systems. The first (SNS) protects you against danger and the second (PNS) protects you against the first! An anxiety or stress disorder comes about when the sympathetic nervous system becomes dysregulated and fails to fully reset to its baseline homeostatic state. Hypnotherapeutic states (akin to sleep states), somehow reset this system but not by realigning, what is called the subconscious mind but rather, by changing brain function.

Despite its effectiveness, hypnotherapy isn't always the first treatment that comes to mind but it should be because, without a doubt, it is the most effective way to bring about lasting change to the presence of unwanted and unnecessary anxiety; you should try it!
So, if you have anxiety and are looking for a solution, or maybe you're just here out of curiosity? Whatever your reason, I hope you find the information below interesting, maybe even useful.

Humans are probably the most emotional beings on earth. Consequently, life is an emotional, feeling experience. Because of that, the quality of our life, empirically speaking, is determined by how we feel. So, if we're experiencing a lot of anxiety on a daily basis, then life probably doesn't feel that good right now. If that sounds like you or someone you know, then Trans4mational Therapy is exactly what you are looking for! Before coming to Singapore, in 2007, I trained and worked in the UK, as an anxiety specialist, for several years. Naturally, all the training and experience I learned there came with me. In addition to my personal experience with anxiety, panic attacks and depression, I underwent specialist training, gaining a Specialist Certificate in Anxiety Management from the prestigious UK Academy of Therapeutic Arts, run by Shaun Brookhouse and Fiona Biddle (legends in the field).

I now use my anxiety management and life skills to the advantage of my clients. The duality of this is because I was trained to deal with anxiety as a patient, and then as a therapist. Meaning, I once suffered from it! As a former sufferer of debilitating anxiety and panic attacks, Thom has some idea of what it feels like at your end! So, the combination of both empirical and practical experience makes him your obvious choice! And to make your choice even easier, he provides a free 1-hour consultation, where you get to meet Thom, discuss your issue and experience a demonstration of hypnosis. Treating Stress Disorders

Managing stress is somewhat of an anomaly because, in order to manage stress, you must be experiencing some level of stress before you can manage it. So, what we are actually managing, is varying levels of relaxation. Stress occurs through the activation of the sympathetic nervous system (SNS) and is known as the stress or fight or flight response. Relaxation occurs through the activation of the parasympathetic nervous system (PNS) and, consequently, is called the relaxation response. Ironically both these systems are survival systems, the stress response amongst other things, protects us against danger or peril and the relaxation response, among many other things, protects us against the stress response. That is until we get too much stress and it becomes a disordered system. Stress, as a bodily function, is a natural protective system that occurs daily, meaning every time we walk, talk or even think, stress systems are at play. And at the Trans4mational Therapy Centre, I have been helping clients with stress-related disorders for 15 years, in Singapore, and for 22 years in total. Along the way, I've learned a lot about the way our brain processes stress and, picked up a few good strategies to help you on your way!

Most often, when talking about stress, we are referring to what is known as psychological (dis)stress but that is only one of a few types. There is oxidative stress (free radicals), metabolic stress, osmotic stress and heat shock to name a few. And the chance you are experiencing many types at the same time is almost a given! So if you would like to know more about how you can effectively manage stress, you certainly cannot live without it; then - go here or, to book an appointment for a Free 1-hour Consultation - go here

When it gets down to what causes depression, there are many reasons but basically, the defining characteristic of depression, is the way it makes us feel. That's because life itself is mostly a consequence of experience, trial and error and because of that, we judge it by how it feels. For people with depression, however, it usually feels quite bad and to make matters worse, there is often no foreseeable prospect of it getting better! To function well. we need some sense of hope, hope for our present and hope for our future and without it, life seems to lose its meaning! Without meaning, life can often feel untenable and, very sadly, has led to many people taking their own life! But take heart because help is available and with Trans4mational Therapy, You can refind hope, hope for the present and hope for the future! To discover more about the treatment of depression - go here or, to book an appointment for a Free Consultation - go here

Consequential Conditions

Low Self-confidence:
While low confidence is often seen as a separate condition, it is very often a collateral effect of conditions like anxiety and stress disorders, as well as the awful feelings that so often pervade as a consequence of depression. To take a look at the treatment for issues like Low Confidence, please take a look at this article.

Self-Respect:
The lack of self-respect is a major contributor to many conditions that blight the human condition. In essence, it is one of the most important things we must have in order to function well in life. In fact, I would go as far as to say, that without self-respect, life loses its purpose and meaning. Without purpose and meaning, life lacks direction, at least direction in a way that makes life worth living! To learn more about how hypnotherapy can help raise your self-respect, please take a look at this article.
