Today I use the combination of my training, skills and experience to treat a wide range of life-limiting issues and you can view many of those conditions here. However, my speciality is treating conditions such as Anxiety and Stress disorders, as well as the many forms of Depression. in some sense the fight or flight response, aka the stress response pervades much of our everyday experience of life and it most certainly intensifies any other mental, emotional or psychological conditions we may have. Therefore, it is essential that this aspect of therapy is fully explored if only to see how it may be limiting any progress that could be made without it or at least in a lessened state!

Do you ever get the feeling that life could or should be better? Well, it most definitely could and Hypnotherapy will make that a reality for you! Hypnotherapy: Making a bad life good and a good life great!
To start, let's talk a little about hypnotherapy, primarily because this information is not widely known or appreciated. Hypnotherapy is a well-established method of healing a wide range of emotional, mental and psychological matters. You can discover some of the conditions it treats here. The natural phenomenon of what we call hypnosis is hundreds, if not thousands, of years old. However, the roots of hypnosis go all the way back to 1842, when a Scottish surgeon, James Braid, coined the term 'Hypnosis.' He called it hypnosis because he thought it was a sleep-like state. With Hypnos being the Greek God of sleep, I guess it seemed like a mystical and logical choice?
Hypnosis, as a therapeutic intervention, was cautiously recognised at first but over time gained more positive reviews and became progressively accepted in medical practice some time ago. It was first approved by the British Medical Association (BMA), first mentioned in 1892 and officially consolidated in 1955. This was later followed by the American Medical Association (AMA) in 1958. So, as you can see, it has a rather impressive pedigree! The fact that it works without the need for medication may offer some explanation as to why it is not as widely recommended as it perhaps should be?
However, it is not just the pandemic, it is the many and varied ways it has wrecked economies, decimated industries, destroyed businesses and the livelihoods of millions. Then there are other conditions like self-esteem, confidence, public speaking or work-based presentations. Bad habits, smoking, alcohol and addictions or dependencies are a growing problem for many too. Relationship problems are on the increase as well, be it with families, spouses, partners or even children, the list could go on and on!
while our world is changing rapidly, the human brain and mind isn't and because of that, hypnotherapy is of such importance because it works much in the same way the brain processes information into memories, which are played out in the smae way that have for a millenia or more!
