Calming Life's Ripples

The feelings and emotions that accompany anxiety, stress, anger or depression, can be like that of a pebble thrown into a pond. It may start with a single thought and ripple out to affect our whole day. And just like the ripples in a pond, a single thought can spread out into other areas of life!

If your boss throws a pebble, its effect can ripple into your home life, affecting relationships with those you love! In fact there is hardly an area of life where these ripples cannot reach?

When life is free of ripples, there's a resplendent calm shining on the pond of life; it reflects the true beauty of our universe. Everything works better when calmness abounds!

This search for inner calm is the focus of my work. All our spiritual endeavours should lean towards this goal; that of inner peace? It matters not if it is meditation, karmic cleansing, aroma therapy, massage therapy or hypnotherapy; essentially, what we are all seeking is inner peace and calm.

The way to achieve this is by making changes at the conscious and subconscious level of mind as well as our energy system. Principally this is how we function; we are conscious, subconscious and energy beings. So, it makes good sense to rebalance our inner self at these levels! The use of Psychotherapy, Hypnotherapy and EFT (emotional freedom techniques), fulfils this goal. Mind you, it is not always quick fix (but it is always worth the effort), but it does not take that long either; often weeks or a couple of months.


The reason it takes time, is quite simply because our brain physically and mentally changes during this process. When we shift from a predominately negative frame of mind, to a positive one, the brain grows new cells, makes new connections with, or strengthens, existing ones (through axonal and dendritic neurogenesis). Simply put, our brain grows new widgets that allow it to communicate more effectively with other cells. This is how we function; no cell communication simply means nothing is happening! Even when we are in deep sleep there is still plenty of chatter going on!

The brain is a little like life itself, in that your internal and external talk, i.e. who you talk to and what you say, can have a huge impact on the results you get. Thus the quality of our own inner (self) communication determines the quality of  our life! When the quality of what’s going on inside goes up, there is usually an equal and reciprocal quality of life happening on the outside? When you are positively charged you just seem to notice more of the good stuff; after all it’s what is on your mind, is it not?
