Having gained a new perspective on life, enjoy it!
Enjoying life is not something that is dependant on not smoking, after all, I'm sure many smokers have very enjoyable lives. It's just basic common sense though, that if you don't smoke, you're more likely to be around a little longer to do it! And when you factor in the number of people that don’t smoke these days, it may also increase your social options too! However, to be specific, what I really mean when I say "enjoy life," is this. The important decisions, important to the quality of your old age, are the ones made early enough in life, to ensure the best outcomes over the long run! That just means, that timing is everything?
But let's be real, it's easier to say we are going to do something than it is to actually do it. And we'll have plenty of reasons or excuses to make us feel less guilty when we can't or don't do it. People say things like, you’ve got to die of something or I might get run over by a bus, which is possible but you probably won't. Having personally witnessed some people, later on in life, some facing life-threatening illnesses or disease, the awareness of the folly of those words is very apparent! Now they would move heaven and earth for a few more months or years! Fortunately, depending on the timing, hypnotherapy can give you the motivation to make those difficult decisions and hopefully in time to make all the difference?
Let's face it, life is something that we should all cherish and appreciate and the best time to do it; is now! Now exists in every moment of every minute of every day. Even if you reflect on something enjoyable, maybe something you did yesterday, it is not yesterday you are enjoying; it's a, now memory of yesterday's experience!
Perhaps one of the best ways to enjoy life is by being lucid in mind body and spirit, as in, while it is happening. Of course, having a healthy body and mind will very likely make all the difference. The Roman poet Decimus Iunius Iuvenalis, had a saying for this: Mens Sana in Corpore Sano, meaning, a healthy mind in a healthy body. So, to really enjoy life it makes sense to think about your choices, especially the longevity of them. Fortunately, I quit smoking over 42 years ago and I’d like to tell you it was because I really thought long and hard about it. The truth though, is that one day I decided to try auto-suggestion and self-hypnosis (try because I thought it would be difficult). I used auto Suggestion and self-hypnosis to quit smoking, and quit I did! Looking back on it, with all that I know now, that I didn't know back then, I am pleased I made that decision.
I don’t say this to impress you but rather to impress upon you the importance of timing in making really important decisions. I can’t say with any certainty if I’d carried on smoking I'd be as happy and enjoying life. But I can say that I am sure I'm a lot healthier than I would have been and I am very happy about that.
Do I enjoy life; you bet I do. I wake up in the morning with a spring in my step and love in my heart. Love for myself, family, friends, where I live in, the things and endless opportunities I have and new ways to experience the joy life brings.
